The Opportunity
As a Geotechnical Engineer within Pomerleau's team, you will be the technical reference on all issues related to the geotechnical design of temporary structures and their on-site realization for specific projects. Working on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you will be working mainly on projects in the implementation phase.
What YOU Will Do
- Actively participate in the development of work methods and sequences, helping to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Perform advanced calculations and detailed analyses for various geotechnical temporary structures such as retaining walls, temporary piles, and earthworks, ensuring the reliability and robustness of technical solutions.
- Coordinate closely with modelers and technicians to develop accurate models and plans for temporary structures, incorporating best practices and current technical standards.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and specialized experts, and play a critical role in the constructive evaluation of external geotechnical designs to optimize proposed solutions in line with project requirements.
- Provide essential technical support to the construction team, ensuring compliant installation and rigorous application of established methods.
- Ensure compliance of specific works through regular checks, guaranteeing the quality and safety of geotechnical structures.
- Act as a credible and influential technical reference for the various stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication on the technical aspects of projects.
- Vigorously contribute to the development and improvement of departmental standards, introducing innovations and best practices to optimize processes and overall results of geotechnical projects.
What YOU Will Bring
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience designing and constructing temporary structures.
- A professional Engineer license or eligibility to obtain one within Canada.
- Strong experience working in Advance Design or other finite element software.
- An expert level of knowledge and hands on experience working with AutoCAD.
- High familiarity of Revit and/or Civil 3D.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $82,000 - $111,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate's experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
