The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers and the purchasing team to resolve quality issues, manage supplier corrective actions, and support investigations into component failures. This role also involves producing monthly supplier performance reports and collaborating with Program Managers and the Senior Manager to determine supplier approval methods, audit frequencies, and surveillance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and establish inspection criteria for purchased components.

Evaluate, approve, and audit suppliers, maintaining an approved supplier directory and quality requirements manual.

Monitor supplier quality performance and generate monthly reports.

Review and approve purchase orders and part history cards.

Lead or assist in failure investigations for product returns or internal failures, and produce related reports (8D, engineering investigations).

Manage non-conformance dispositions and participate in MRB (Material Review Board) decisions.

Lead corrective action boards with customers and ensure timely resolutions.

Coordinate First Article Inspections (FAIs) for new or revised products.

Participate in the review and approval of supplier concessions and alternate component evaluations.

Ensure product acceptance and release aligns with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements, including delegations for product acceptance.

Assist in production readiness reviews.

Create and review internal quality procedures and work instructions.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

A minimum of three years of experience with comprehensive quality management systems, preferably AS9100 certified.

Certified Quality Auditor.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements (Canadian Aviation Regulations preferred).

Experience in an electronics manufacturing/assembly environment, preferably IPC-A-610 Class 3.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communications.

Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to manage conflicting priorities with minimal supervision.

Required Skills:

Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.

Strong diagnostic information gathering and analytical thinking.

Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Solid understanding of quality assurance practices and regulatory requirements.

Attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.

Familiarity with electronics assembly processes.

Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.

Team player with strong interpersonal awareness.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
