At Ogo Tawa, we specialize in connecting talented artists with a global network of art collectors
and enthusiasts. We're the first ecommerce platform focused exclusively on selling the products
of Canadian Black artists globally. Our platform allows artists to showcase and sell their unique
art pieces, and we're looking for a Sales Representative to expand our artist network and drive
sales of their artwork.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Sales Representative to focus on recruiting talented artists and selling their
art pieces through our platform. This role involves identifying and onboarding new artists while
achieving sales targets by facilitating transactions with art buyers. The ideal candidate is
passionate about art, highly motivated by sales targets, and able to develop strong relationships
with both artists and collectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Artist Recruitment:
Proactively identify and approach emerging and established artists to recruit
them to the platform.
Develop and maintain relationships with artists, ensuring their artwork is
uploaded and ready for sale.
Guide artists through the application and onboarding process, ensuring their
experience is smooth and efficient. Art Sales:
Engage with potential buyers, providing them with information about available
artworks and helping them make purchasing decisions.
Assist in pricing discussions with artists to align their expectations with market
trends and demand. Close sales by efficiently managing inquiries, negotiations, and transactions to
ensure a seamless buyer experience. Sales Targets & KPIs:
Meet monthly and quarterly sales quotas by successfully selling artwork from
recruited artists.
Achieve individual KPIs related to artist recruitment, such as the number of new
artists onboarded per month.
Track and report sales productivity, including the volume of art sales, average
sales price, and number of repeat buyers.
Ensure a high conversion rate from artist recruitment to active sales on the
platform. Relationship Management:
Maintain ongoing relationships with both artists and collectors, ensuring
satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
Act as the main point of contact for both artists and buyers, addressing any
issues or questions they may have during the sales process.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Number of new artists recruited each month.
Sales volume of art pieces (in both units sold and total revenue generated).
Conversion rate from artist onboarding to sales activity.
Client retention rate and repeat sales from collectors.
Meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Requirements:
2-4 years of experience in sales, preferably within the art or creative industries.
Strong understanding of contemporary art and the ability to identify potential
high-demand artists.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with
both artists and buyers.
Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Business, or a related field.
Established connections in the art community (galleries, artists, collectors, etc.).
Ability to work independently and meet sales KPIs in a results-driven environment.
