About the role:

We are seeking experienced and dynamic Department Managers for various departments (Grocery, Produce, Meat, Deli, Cheese, Fresh-To-Go, Bakery, and more) to oversee daily operations. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, leading and developing a team, and driving sales growth. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a customer-service retail environment.

What you'll do:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Supervise, train, and develop department staff
  • Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure efficient department operations
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback

Customer Service:

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs and resolving issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing department
  • Provide product knowledge and assist customers in finding items

Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and order products to ensure adequate stock
  • Perform regular inventory audits and manage stock rotation to minimize shrinkage
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manage deliveries
  • You may occasionally be required to work in cold environments (freezer loading and unloading) and lift up to 50lb weight cases

Sales and Merchandising:

  • Implement merchandising strategies to optimize product placement and sales
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop and execute promotional activities and special displays

Compliance and Safety:

  • Work with our in-house Rabbi to ensure compliance with Kosher Law, and health and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required
  • Implement and enforce store policies and procedures, including all Health and Food Safety requirements

What you'll bring:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grocery retail management role
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing budgets

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
