This role requires travel within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions to our different job sites, so the successful candidate must have a reliable personal vehicle and valid BC driver's license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review design drawings, identifying errors and mitigating risks.
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs, cost estimates and schedules.
  • Request quotes and procure equipment and materials on time and under budget.
  • Review concrete forming and reinforcing steel shop drawings for errors
  • Prepare structural metals shop drawings
  • Submit, organize and maintain project documentation (RFI, CCO, CO, shop drawings, etc.).
  • Manage testing, approvals and detailed Engineering records
  • Assist the Project Manager in setting up detailed project schedules, coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to the project work site.
  • Administer project office file records for the completion of Inspections, As-Built records and O&M manuals as well as Commissioning and final Testing of all aspects of the project scope.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate all aspects of the project contract works.
  • Manage and coordinate work with other technical and field staff.
  • Ensure that all construction and installation is performed in accordance with company and contractual standards of quality.
  • Provide a safe work environment through continuous training and development.
  • Operate with honesty, integrity and respect.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as required.

SKILLS & EDUCATION:

  • Degree or Diploma in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in concrete, reinforcing steel and/or structural metals design and construction
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • Possess working knowledge of the latest codes, standards, methods and industry safety requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge in construction project execution and coordination.
  • Knowledge and experience in vendor relations.
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office including MS Project.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge and experience in fabrication or assembly supervision is an asset.
  • Experience in Water Infrastructure Construction considered a asset
  • Level 1 First Aid Certificate and CSTS, an asset.
  • Highly organized and motivated to carry out a variety of duties.
