Salary: $33.00 Hourly for 30 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Roofer will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks related to roofing installation, repair, and maintenance to support the successful completion of construction projects. Job responsibilities will also include performing general labor duties when required, such as site preparation, material handling, and assisting other crew members.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, repair, or replace built-up roofing systems using materials like asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
• Apply, repair, or replace single-ply roofing systems with waterproof sheet materials such as modified bitumen, elastomeric membranes, or other asphalt-based products.
• Install, repair, or replace shingles, shakes, and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs.
• Install and maintain sheet metal flashings to ensure proper water drainage and roof protection.
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces both above and below ground level.
• Install and repair metal roofing systems using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Erect scaffolding and use safety equipment to ensure safe access to roofs.
• May estimate material requirements and provide cost quotes for roofing projects.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience: 1 year of work experience as a Roofer
• Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
• Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
