Job Summary:
The Accounting Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing essential support to the finance team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company.
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and manage collections.
Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements.
Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Maintain payroll records and handle payroll-related inquiries from employees.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support the finance team in budget preparation and variance analysis.
Generate financial reports and summaries for management review.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and records.
Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
