We are looking for an experienced accounting technician to handle comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting tasks, with a focus on providing excellent client service and maintaining accurate financial records.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly bookkeeping assignments (including but not limited to payables, receivables, bank and credit card reconciliations)
  • Reconcile accounts and post journal entries.
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Prepare financial and accounting reports.
  • Prepare sale tax returns.
  • Prepare year end entries, forecasts, budgets and other statistical reports.
  • Prepare payroll calculations including bonus and vacation calculations, taxable benefits, remittances
  • Prepare annual T4 and T4A reporting
  • Prepare T3010 Registered Charity Information Return
  • Reviewing and analyzing of financial reports, account receivables & account payables
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Be a trusted advisor for our clients.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Completion of Accounting Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience as an accounting technician
  • Bookkeeping experience with insurance brokers would be an asset
  • Highly proficient in cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Working with RIBO reports would be an asset
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to effectively interface with personnel at all levels
  • Professional and friendly manner
  • Positive attitude and desire to help others
  • Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments on time and manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
