Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the IT Generalist will be responsible for stable and functioning operations by managing our cloud systems, access controls, and supporting compliance with our committed security standards. We are seeking an experienced IT Generalist with a strong sense of integrity to help maintain and enhance our IT infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are secure, up-to-date, and in line with industry best practices.

Your Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage all company IT systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning optimally.
- Actively monitor software and hardware update, patch, and upgrade requirements, and inform and oversee internal teams to deploy the appropriate updates.
- Be the first point of contact for end-user support, triage, investigate and resolve technical issues. Act as liaison with vendor support teams as needed.
- Administer user access controls, ensuring that permissions are assigned based on role requirements and are regularly reviewed for compliance.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, including setting up and revoking access to necessary systems and resources.
- Implement and enforce access control policies to protect sensitive information and maintain system security.
- Create and maintain a library of IT-related runbooks and operational documentation.
- Follow the Change Management process for operational systems changes.
- Ensure that all IT operations are in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Find better, more efficient ways to execute tasks, without compromising the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
- Collaborate with the Information Security team to support the implementation of security initiatives and controls.
- Support the compliance team in preparing for external audits and certifications.
- Provide technical support to employees, addressing software and/or cloud system issues.
- Educate staff on IT best practices, and proper use of company systems.
- Participation in an on-call rotation may be required.
Your Qualifications and Skills
We value diverse backgrounds and welcome individuals from non-traditional paths. Successful candidates often possess:
- Post-secondary certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in IT support and systems administration specifically in a cloud-forward environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks in context of the entire company
- Experience with access management tools, security protocols, and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and the ability to implement security measures.
- Proficient in managing and working with internal ticketing systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Assets:
Experience with one or more of the following experiences or skills would be considered an asset:
- Experience managing Google Workspace
- Experience implementing and managing cloud-based SSO
- Experience implementing and managing MDM
- Experience with cloud-based EPP
- ITIL Foundations
