Location: Downtown Vancouver
Job Summary
- Manage and lead a team of security professionals in a 24/7 office environment.
- Daily communications and coordination with building operators and tenants.
- Operation of the building management system, including managing access control, controlling elevator access, and conducting security investigations as required.
What you would do
- Operation of the site management system, including managing access control, controlling elevator access, and conducting security investigations as required.
- Manage and lead a team of security professionals on site
- Daily communications and coordination with site coordinator and supervisors
- Train and mentor team members with respect to on-site duties and protocols, as well as site conduct, deportment, reporting procedures, and company policy and procedures.
- Requires a high energy S/O with excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to interact with the over 8000 public visitors per day and use language and conduct that deliberately avoids conflict
- Must be able to evict members of the public that violate library rules without the use of physical force
- Must be able to stand or walk for eight-hour shifts.
- Respond to all medical emergencies and provide first aid as required.
- Complete regular patrols of property.
- Carry out work according to specific instructions and set procedures.
- Respond to site emergencies (alarms, medical, disturbances)
What you bring:
- High School Diploma. College Diploma or certificate an asset.
- Security industry experience required. Previous supervisory experience/training preferred
- Valid Security Worker License required.
- OFA I, II or III (basic, intermediate, advanced) an asset
- Strong communicator with assertive interpersonal skills, sensitivity and team player are critical to success.
- A positive, professional and enthusiastic attitude is an imperative in dealing with both Securiguard, clients, or other personnel
- Demonstrated attributes in supervision, decision making, organizing, problem solving, analytical skill, interpersonal sensitivity and tolerance are required.
- Basic computer skills required. Advanced computer skills preferred.
- Effective and professional written and oral skills are necessary.
