Position Overview

The Administrator, Land & Community is responsible for supporting all land-related activities for Cordelio's wind, solar and storage projects from development, through construction and into operations. The Administrator, Land & Community will collaborate and support internal stakeholders such as Development, Origination, Engineering, Project Finance, and Asset Management teams, as well as external stakeholders. This role will report to the Manager, Land & Community.

Cordelio will consider candidates without direct industry experience interested in engaging in the rapidly evolving renewable energy industry.

This role is available in Toronto, Canada with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Process all land and community related payments, including property tax reimbursements on a weekly basis utilizing Pandell LandWorks and NetSuite.
  • Assist with generating payment escalations and royalty calculations.
  • Generate, save and send all payment statements connected to payments made on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate the execution process of real estate agreements with members of the legal team and executive team on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate the execution process of printed cheques for weekly payments.
  • Work with the accounting team to set up new landowners or entities as new vendors and verify the accompanying documentation.
  • Work with landowners and external legal counsel to process transfers of property and collect any new documentation required from the landowners, including but not limited to payment directives, payment authorization forms, W-9s, Assignment and Assumption Agreements.
  • Assist Land Team with agreement input into Pandell LandWorks as needed.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of landowner and/or community related events.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of annual budget for the Land Department.
  • Track and monitor expenses against land/community related budgets.
  • Create and manage spreadsheets to track tasks, agreements etc. and coordinates activities with other colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Input and update data and agreement commitments in Pandell LandWorks and Asana.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, equivalent and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar administrative or relevant role.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Must have precise record-keeping skills.
  • Communicates effectively with internal colleagues, landowners and third-party professionals.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Willing to learn and adapt to different project management tools, software and processes.
  • Must be able to read and analyze heavily worded legal documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel requirements (within Canada and the United States) estimated at up to 10%
  • Lawfully authorized to work in Canada
  • Lawfully authorized to travel to the United States.
  • Financial acumen: Basic understanding of accounting processes, payment cycles and calculations.

  • Demonstrated ability to scale and take on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated impact in previous roles.
  • Experience in the renewable energy, large infrastructure industries is an asset, but not required.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10% primarily domestically (U.S. and Canada). Includes travel primarily to remote project locations as well as occasionally to company facilities and technical conferences.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Visual acuity both near and far, manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, and speech.
  • Standing walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting will also be required as necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The compensation range for this position is CAD $60,000-75,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
