The Jilly Box is a curated quarterly lifestyle subscription box filled with products loved by Jillian Harris and Team Jilly Box. The Jilly Box has an exciting opportunity for a temporary, full-time Product Development Specialist (20-months) to join their Kelowna, BC, based team. As the successful candidate, you will be required to work out of their Kelowna office a minimum of 1 day a week; the remainder of the week will be working from a home office. Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will support the sourcing and creative lead on all products with your technical development expertise to continue to build on the success of The Jilly Box brand with a focus on small, North American, eco-friendly, sustainable, culturally diverse, and cruelty-free brands! This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of procurement in the product development space.
What you will be doing:
- Support the sourcing/creative lead on all products across categories;
- Flag QC issues with samples to the warehouse;
- Confirm and share product details for marketing ensuring accuracy with product details and pricing;
- Assist with the marketing team each season to ensure they are informed about upcoming products;
- Ensure packaging is well-thought out to align with our values and reduce waste;
- Supplier communications - product customization, sampling process management, production timeline process and management;
- Technical development expertise;
- Maintain a high standard of product integrity;
- Support with determining size/quantity breakdown;
- Create spec sheets for products, packaging;
- Ownership of Fit Model Process/Try-ons;
- Prepare internal size chart references for apparel;
- Product details/inserts for instructional use;
- Liaise with graphic designer to ensure product packaging design and product design deadlines are met;
- Measure apparel items to check if it matches supplier size specs;
- Ensure samples are ready for photoshoots and in the office;
- Ownership of all products at sized shoots. Key member on-set for sized photoshoots;
- Organize and order photoshoot samples;
- Learn more about development and factories from vendors.
- Ideally, you have 3+ years of experience in a procurement product development space within the direct to consumer, retail, merchandising, or subscription box space;
- Experience working with various e-commerce platforms and vendors;
- An eye for detail and a high standard for quality;
- Experience with Google Workspace;
- Dedicated to learning, applying, championing, and communicating The Jilly Box's core values;
- Thorough knowledge and proven experience in product development;
- Experience establishing and sustaining collaborative working relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders;
- Work effectively independently and as part of a team;
- Are comfortable with tight deadlines;
- Strong problem solving abilities.
This exciting full-time, 20-month contract role offers a salary of $60,000-$65,000/year based on experience.
