GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position is accountable to the Service Manager for providing efficient prompt mechanical repairs and service to customers on location (indoor and outdoor), maintaining good customer relations, and handling all paperwork and completing all electronic documents in an accurate and
timely manner for invoicing. Must work with minimum supervision within established procedures and must adhere to all company policies and work rules.
This position requires a valid drivers license.SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Troubleshoot and satisfactorily repair (electric, diesel, propane, gasoline, crown turret,) trucks on customers premises to avoid callbacks. Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customers lift trucks.
Run computer based diagnostics on forklifts and other products.
Maintain regular communication with the service dispatcher.
Ensure that service truck has parts inventory according to established levels to avoid unnecessary travel and delay conducting repairs. Call into parts department with all pertinent info to order parts in a timely manner as required.
Maintains truck in good working order, keeps clean and neat inside and out and possesses adequate hand tool inventory. Maintains company tools in working order and returning borrowed company tools as soon as job is completed.
Maintains up-to-date job list with respect to time, parts used, etc. to ensure accurate billing. May service multiple numbers of customers per day.
Maintains safe work habits and good driving record.
Maintains good relations with customer representatives.
Provides input regarding training requirements to remain up-to-date on parts and equipment.
Advises customers and branch management regarding additional work required on equipment and promotes Industrial Truck Services Preventative Maintenance Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent is Desired
Technical School graduate is desired.
Mechanical and electrical aptitude is required.
Good written and verbal communication skills and customer care skills are necessary.
Ability to safely operate a lift truck
