Family Nurse Practitioner

Location: Brampton

Salary $120,000 plus

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to add to their clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner functions as an essential member of the healthcare team in the provision of comprehensive, multidisciplinary, collaborative primary healthcare services to the community. These services include primary care, occupational, minor trauma care, health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries, rehabilitation, and support services.

Responsibilities

? Performs comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.

? Practices autonomously and is solely accountable for his/her actions while practicing.

? Consult with physicians or other health care professionals when the client's condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.

? Makes appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General's guidelines.

? Prescribes medications and orders x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class

? Implements strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families, or groups.

? Collaborates on the management of Members with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.

? Refers patients to other providers or programs according to the patient's need.

Qualifications:

? Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario

? Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C

? Master's degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner certification

? Current registration with the Nursing regulatory body in Canada

? At least 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner

? Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

? Ability to manage multiple patients with diverse needs
