Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the VP of Operations will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership of our Campus and Corporate business across Canada with an emphasis on strengthening and developing our portfolio.

Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact:

In this role, you will serve as the primary representative for all Corporate and Campus client accounts in Canada. The role oversees a large and diversified scope of services too ranging from high-end food, cleaning services, maintenance and general facilities management services. Responsible for client relations, talent development, financial performance, operational efficiencies, compliance, health & safety, you will lead a team of professionals towards operational excellence, client retention and contribute to the growth of your portfolio.

Your responsibilities will be more specifically but not limited to:

    • Provide strategic leadership to your respective scope to ensure operationalizing of medium and long-term strategic plans, overall client satisfaction and account retention and growth.
    • Ensure implementation of the business plan for the client that establishes a rapport, promotes partnership, and fulfills the clients' needs and expectations.
    • Maintain a professional business relationship with clients by directly negotiating contracts and matters pertaining to account operations.
    • Lead and inspire others to grow and develop our business through innovation, in collaboration with sales and support teams
    • Ensure financial performance and goals in accordance with overall strategy.
    • Own, inspire and engage others by role-modelling a culture of the highest standards in Health and Safety across all levels of the organization
    • Oversee compliance to all company/client policies and procedures, and government regulations.
    • Monitor unit operation to ensure the highest quality of products and services.
    • Ensure ongoing development of employees, building and growing an internal talent pipeline
    • Promote and support talent, and workplace diversity initiatives.
Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Master Degree in Business Management or equivalent related fields
  • Understanding of the Canadian Corporate and Campus environments would be a real asset
  • 10 years' experience in a senior operational leadership role, included demonstrated ability to successfully strengthen and grow a business
  • Ability to collaborate on and execute strategy, set priorities, plan, and coordinate work activities, enabling the selective allocation of attention and resources.
  • Strong sense of client relations: ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients and potential clients and establish long-term relationships for account retention, future sales, and the best interest of the organization.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical thinking, including deep understanding of managing food and labour costs
  • Strategic leadership to engage and lead large teams towards common objectives, manage performance and grow talent
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Proven motivator (experience motivating direct and indirect teams), agile, and highly collaborative and proven experience managing in a unionized environment
  • Strong sense and appetite to innovate and being solution-minded; willing to take calculated risks
  • Learner, open to continued growth and development
  • You must be available to travel up to 50% of your time across Canada
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English is an asset
