THE ROLE

We are partnering with a reputable, dynamic, and diverse Canadian law firm located in Vancouver, BC. Currently, they are looking for an Accounting Clerk to be part of their robust 11-person Accounting team. This position will report to the Controller and receive direct support and training from Trust Administrator. The successful candidate must possess good learning mindset, strong work ethics, curiosity and energy.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify AP invoices
• Prepare and manage payments, including cheques, e-transfers, visas, and wire transactions.
• Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies
• Work closely with internal and external parties to resolve any payment-related issues.
• Act as primary backup to trust desk including trust deposits, trust cheques, trust transfers, and investments.
• Assist the Billing Clerk during billing cycle and month end.
• Generating and issuing various monthly reporting packages.
• Provided for all positions, including accounts receivable and trust transactions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an accounting role,
• Experience in a professional services environment or Trust experience is advantageous
• Collections knowledge and experience are also considered an asset
• Advanced technical skills including Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel
• Experience with Elite 3E or equivalent accounting software experience considered an asset
• Aptitude for working with numbers with a strong analytical ability
