Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Scope Of Work:
General:
- Ensure high standard of safety at any time.
- Responsible to Responsible to launch / develop site installations for 3 stations + logistic area.
- Assist and coordinate with station manager for all temporary works such as but not limited to:
- Elec, Meca, welding, plumbing, cooling, ventilation, lifting works.
- Responsible to start up, hire set up the following Departments:
- Mechanical & Welding Workshop
- Plumbing and cooling
Operations:
- Prepare works, schedule tasks, and dispatch teams according to site planning and priorities.
- Define, set, and implement procedures to ensure good comprehension of works by the site teams.
- Ensure safe and smooth operation of its teams and propose solutions to fit planning.
- Define and optimize Equipment schedule with Station Manager to optimize equipment fleet.
- Follow-up PR with procurement to get the material on time (3 weeks min to consider)
- Purchase / rent equipment and material for site teams
- Follow-up spare parts and consumables
Reporting:
- Ensure daily pre-start is performed on site and recorded in the server.
- Get daily reports from site team, staff and workers presence and hours completed and tasks performed each day.
- Get the hourly meters of all equipment and utilities on site (electrical meters, water meters, equipment hour meters, diesel consumption, etc.
- Establish statistics to identify any deviation from normal operation.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- 5+ years' experience in Plant Engineering with Civil Engineering firm
- Impressive knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
- Proficiency in Plant & Logistics
- Engineering and supervision skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
