Compensation: $17.50/ hourly
Position Summary: The Server is responsible for providing dining and table experiences to tenants and guests of the community in accordance with standards for excellence. The Server is an integral part of the service team, supporting the provision of a quality living environment for seniors. Under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, the Server delivers exemplary meal services within dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with the Vibrant Advantage approach and philosophy to meet and exceed tenant and guest expectations.
- Responsible for proper dining set-up, providing meal and dining services and cleaning of dining rooms and designated service areas.
- Responsible for taking the meal and beverage orders and requested items according to established policies and procedures while following Serving it Right guidelines.
- Responsible for handling food in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complied with all regulatory Food Safe practices.
- Takes initiative and responds attentively, efficiently and politely to all tenant requests, questions, concerns, and/or complaints.
- Consistently take ownership of tenant issues and follows up to ensure satisfaction through providing excellent customer service.
- Washes plateware, utensils and glassware used in the dining room service; Light kitchen food prep if required, dishing out; soups, salads, entrees in desserts.
- Reports any repairs needed to maintenance and/or Hospitality Manager.
- Adheres to WHMIS protocols and infection control guidelines when performing cleaning related job functions and maintains MSDS.
- Ensures compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures and aides in the promotion of Risk Management programs.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Serving it Right Certification and Food Safe Certification required.
- Previous experience in dining, hospitality and/or full service senior living preferred.
- WHMIS Certification and First Aid Certificate an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to multitask.
- Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Understands that success lies in working together and enjoys being part of a team.
