We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. This individual will be working on a variety of project types, including lump-sum, design-build, and construction management in collaboration with our development & construction departments. The Estimation department has a unique and close-knit culture where you can grow internally alongside strong leaders. Come join the team!

What you will do as an Estimator:

  • Accurately read and analyze Architectural, Structural, Civil, and Landscaping Blueprints for quantity and scope preparation.
  • Read and analyze conceptual and preliminary project plans and prepare budgets using reasonable assumptions.
  • Provide Value Engineering suggestions.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.
  • Work efficiently utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams; Bluebeam; and various internal software.
  • Prepare all or portions of various estimates, including but not limited to:
    • Review tender drawings, specifications, and provided reports;
    • Prepare quantity take-offs for various disciplines using internal estimation software;
    • Keep a list of qualifications and assumptions made while completing take-offs;
    • Review Estimates with the Project Estimator and assign unit pricing to the quantities to determine the Budget for that scope of work;
    • Prepare the Project Estimate file and enter internal budgets;
    • Prepare tender packages for subcontractors, including Instructions to Bidders, Bid Forms, Scopes of Work, and additional template schedules;
    • Issue Tender Packages to subcontractors via internal tendering software and follow up during the tendering process;
    • Respond to subcontractors tendering questions;
    • Receive subcontractor tenders and prepare a Tender Analysis for the various packages;
    • Enter received subcontractor pricing into the Project Estimate file.
  • Update subcontractor information in tendering software.
  • Communicate and liaise with subcontractors to develop and build working relationships.

A Hybrid Remote/Office work schedule is available, however, you must be able to attend office or site meetings in person as required.

Does this sound like you?

  • Successful completion of a Construction Engineering Technology degree/diploma is preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant estimation experience in the construction industry in an ICI and/or High Rise Residential General Contractor environment
  • General contractor experience in the GTA and surrounding areas is preferred.
  • Design-Build Experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Reliable method of transportation
