Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Burnaby!
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis functions of Engineers and Geoscientists BC, its charities, and associated entities. The successful candidate in this role will assist in the development of financial reports, identify opportunities for process improvements, and develop tools and processes to better support the association's reporting and planning functions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Leads the development of all templates and reporting related to financial plans, budgets, forecasts, projections, and reporting; provides scenario analysis of operating budgets; designs, updates and maintains budgeting schedules and templates.
Assembles budgeting and forecasting reports for Management Team, Executives and Board presentations; prepares data including variance reports comparing actuals to budgets and forecasts and year-over-year activities.
Prepares financial models and reporting to assist and support in management decisions. Supports the design, adoption and enhancement of the planning, budgeting, and forecasting process and system, including improvements to data governance and automation.
Prepares information packages, analysis, and questions, and attends financial review meetings with budget owners to analyze results compared to Budget and Forecast and historical results.
Develops and maintains actionable management reporting, performs recurring and ad hoc analysis, provides insights into performance, variances, drivers, and key trends to support organizational performance, leadership goals, and key initiatives.
Assists in the design and implementation of new policies, processes, and reporting requirements.
Serves as team lead for financial planning and analysis practices and policy inquiries.
Assists in leading finance projects in cooperation with other departments within the organization.
Assists in leading process documentation and management within the finance team.
Other duties as assigned by management.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
The successful applicant will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is required.
CPA designation is required.
5-7 years of experience with complex budgeting and forecasting processes.
5-7 years of experience in creating financial models and reports using MS Excel, MS Dynamics Business Central, MS Dynamics PowerBI, and other.
5+ years experience leading and sharing knowledge with junior team members.
Strong information technology experience, including MS Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, Lookups, Macros), MS Dynamic Business Central, MS Dynamic Power BI, MS Teams, etc.
Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, process improvements for efficiencies.
Strong expertise in financial modeling and analysis.

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including a salary within our hiring range of $85,000 to $95,000. Placement within the hiring range will be based on candidate experience relative to the requirements of the role. Additional details on our generous benefit offerings are found below.
