Position Summary
The individual in the Manufacturing Shop Hand is responsible for Production, assembly, teardown of products to meet the manufacturing demands of CLEANTEK.
The Shop Hand role is a dynamic role that will evolve to fit the needs of a quickly growing company. The incumbent will be highly organized and have a strong understanding of the manufacturing product assembly and support of the Quality Control initiatives as ability to move into all production areas as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble products to current instructions, Bill of Materials and Drawings
- Utilize and maintain the tools provided
- Assist in materials and product prep for manufacturing
- Participate in all safety, Quality and Manufacturing team meetings
- Assist in maintaining a clean shop facility
- Perform other duties as required.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and metal components
- Expertise with hand tools, power tools and mechanical assembly
- Knowledge and proper use of all PPE (Shoes, glasses, shields, masks etc.)
- Microsoft Office computers skills an asset (Excel, Word)
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Previous experience with electrical assembly and mechanical assembly as well as fabrication
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in manufacturing/ shop environment preferred
- Participation within a 6-sigma environment is an asset
- Forklift ticket an asset
- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
Special Conditions of Employment
- Overtime may be required
- Must be able to lift/move a minimum of 50lb
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
The Manufacturing Shop Hand is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all Cleantek equipment. This is a dynamic role that will evolve to fit the needs of the company. The candidate will be highly motivated and an effective problem solver with an electrical background and some mechanical. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced and highly technical environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Basic Mechanical and Electrical knowledge: relays, electrical circuits, batteries, AC and DC power, solar.
- Identify root cause of equipment malfunctions, battery operations, and electrical components.
- Provide internal/on-site service of equipment including discussing issues, inspecting equipment and troubleshoot the issue.
- Assemble products to current instructions, bill of materials and drawings through the utilization of the tools provided
- Adhere to all safety requirements and policies
- Competent in electrical wiring and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of industrial batteries
- Knowledge of basic engine maintenance
- Experience trouble shooting small generators; have serviced small diesel engines
- Perform in-process quality checks at the required QC levels, and maintain equipment & tools
- Develop and Maintain asset inventory documentation
Provide support to Engineering in the form of test setup and implementation.
