What is the role about?

The Sales Executive role is for a go-getter ready to impact a fast-growing digital agency. The sole purpose of the goal is to develop and bring new businesses. This stems from projects to on-going, long terms engagements. Sales executives will receive warm leads and create their own pipeline.

The role is intended for someone who wants to walk into an environment where they can make an immediate impact. It is someone who can collaborate with teams and thrive in solo environments. You will be supported by leadership, solutions engineers, designers, etc.

With this in mind, it is imperative for the candidate to have e-commerce experience, preferably with Shopify Plus, SuiteCommerce, etc.

- Our founders started one of the first Shopify Plus agencies, which was eventually sold.

- We are Shopify Plus Partners and partner with other e-commerce leaders like ReCharge, Klaviyo, Omnisend, Yotpo, Smile, etc.

- We have a remote team, but our headquarters is in Chicago. We have a small team in Chicago. Outside of Chicago, we have teams located in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Toronto, Athens (Greece), Sarajevo (Bosnia), and Surat (India).

- Majority of our clients are e-commerce-based brands with annual revenue between $5M-$350MM.

The ideal candidate for this position will be highly skilled at generating and finalizing new opportunities. They will utilize a consultative selling approach to leverage their knowledge in identifying and evaluating potential leads, ultimately resulting in sales opportunities with both new and current customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sales process from start to finish, including hunting, positioning, presenting, and closing deals
  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline through proactive outreach, industry events, and networking
  • Build rapport and establish long-term relationships with brands/merchants
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the right approach and fit for the ideal customer profile (ICP)
  • Understand each prospect's needs and goals and create effective sales strategies accordingly
  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Nurture and close warm leads
  • Generate a self-produced pipeline based on cold outreach
  • Nurture and close cold leads
  • Manage complex negotiations with senior-level executives
  • Collaborate with Partners on Partner-generated leads
  • Collaborate with Partners on Agency-generated leads
  • Consistently meet and/or exceed sales targets and performance metrics

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of sales in the ecommerce ecosystem, preferably Shopify/Shopify Plus
  • Understanding of Shopify Plus, Recharge, and other supporting technologies
  • Have the ability to travel a handful of times a year to conferences, partner events, and client meetings
  • High level of comfort and expertise with technical product knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate with Solutions Engineers
  • Experience and knowledge of HubSpot or similar CRM
  • Demonstrable track record of over-achieving quota
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excel in fast-paced and high-growth environments
  • Based in Toronto, Canada and a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Company background, goals, challenges

  • We are a global team of 125, with remote teams in North America, a Small team in Europe, and the largest team in India.
  • Our organization is a Great Place to Work certified organization in 2022 and 2023, and later this year, we will be re-doing our certification.
  • We are one of the leading Shopify Plus agencies.
  • We typically work with merchants/brands with a GMV between $10M and $100M, but we do have those under or above those metrics, including multibillion-dollar brands and fast-growing start-ups.
  • We won a Webby for best homepage design two years ago and finished second for best user experience last year, behind Google.
  • Our core partners are Shopify Plus and Recharge, but we have wonderful relationships in the ecosystem.
  • Our core service offerings are: Development, UI/UX design, integrations, migrations, Shopify app development, web app development, conversion rate optimization, and ecommerce strategy. We offer these services as a project or a managed service.

Compensation:

  • Base salary $80,000 - $150,000 (US Dollars) Based on experience
  • Commission plan is an additional $70,000-$100,000 annually based on sales performance
  • End of year discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance
