Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Paint Booth Operator at one of our Stoney Creek facilities.
Job Summary & Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the Paint Booth Operator is responsible for operating the robots to the established quality specifications. In addition, they are responsible in participating in the Quality System and Environmental Management practicing continuous improvement where ever possible.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and document pre- and post-production tasks
- Monitor robotic paint application of automotive parts
- Monitor robotic functions during colour change and set up processes looking for intricate details.
- Ability to move robots using a joystick type controller.
- Inspect parts before and after painting for quality of the paint application.
- Comfortable with basic computer skills and programs (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to follow a schedule and pay attention to minor details.
- Set up Robots/Spray Applicators at the start of shift and clean / teardown at the end of shift.
- Communicate observations on irregularities to the Process engineering team.
- Comfortable with information flowing from a variety of computer monitors / screens that provide information on multiple processes at the same time.
- Comply with all company health and safety regulations, reporting accidents, incidents, and known or potential hazards, and ensuring a safe work area at all times.
- Adhere to the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality system and ISO14001 policies and procedures at all times.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies; working in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring work place is clean and free of debris and dirty solvent emptied.
- Adhere to all procedures and policies as outlined such as safe booth entries, lock outs, clean room procedures, assist minor booth cleaning equipment.
- Practice continuous improvements: or identifying any process or procedures that can be improved and a result in company performance.
- Rotate between shifts as required.
- Rotate between all paint kitchen and booth positions are required.
- Perform duties as assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent. Applicable Post-Secondary Education Preferred.
- GHS, Safe Booth Entry, Hazardous Energy Control, Bounding and grounding
- Demonstrated Strong Communication Skills
- Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude
- Basic to Intermediate computer skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience to paint processing an asset
