Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Rate: Starting $19 /hour

Availability: Full-time preferred

Shift Options: Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team. This role offers flexibility to work in either home care or hospital settings, based on your preference.

Qualifications:

Education: Personal Support Worker Certificate; high school or college diploma preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a seniors home, long-term care facility, or hospital is an asset.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Word and email communications.

Certifications:

Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

Proof of current immunizations for MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella).

Proof of negative TB skin test within the past year or negative chest x-ray within the past five years.

Other Requirements: Recent Police Background Check.

Preferred: Membership with the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide residents with assistance in daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility support.

Administer medication reminders and light housekeeping duties as required.

Demonstrate an ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner.

Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and co-workers, contributing to a supportive team environment.

Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report on resident status and collaborate with the care team.

Exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of working independently and under pressure.
