The Manager, Marketing is responsible for generating brand awareness for REAL District by planning, leading, and implementing marketing strategies, conducting market research, and managing marketing projects. This position plays a pivotal role in driving increased revenue, enhancing brand recognition, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Manager, Marketing will oversee the development, implementation, and measurement of marketing plans, manage advertising and promotional campaigns, monitor market trends, and track departmental metrics. This role also involves building and managing an effective marketing team and working collaboratively with other REAL departments, suppliers, and partners to achieve organizational goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a member of REAL's Management management team, the Manager manager Marketing marketing participates in the development of REAL's strategic planning process, develops, and implements the business plan to achieve the organization's goals by:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to enhance brand awareness and achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead the creation, execution, and measurement of marketing plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Developing and implementing the business unit policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, safety and consistency
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, reporting findings to key stakeholders.

Leads, oversees and manages Marketing activities and promotional programs, strategies and services to support event, entertainment and recreational requirements by:

  • Managing the creative development process by developing service standards/timelines and approving creative execution to ensure consistency with brand standards. Participates and leads the development of a consistent brand promise, which is evident in all marketing materials and activities
  • Leading Marketing initiatives for REAL, to promote and support all REAL events and offerings.
  • Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
  • Undertaking and analyzing market research to understand audiences and applies that research to ensure marketing and promotional efforts are effective in reaching intended audiences and driving desired results

Ensures effective business unit financial planning by:

  • Contributing to the development of the department's annual budget (capital and financial), responsible for monitoring quarterly financial statements and forecasting/implementing appropriate expenditure controls to manage costs.
  • Periodically reviewing invoicing to ensure all inputs are reported and invoice is submitted in a timely manner to the client. Ensuring outstanding receivables are followed up on once advised by Finance of any delinquency.
  • Recommending changes in direction or priorities during the business year; provide direction for necessary modifications to the business plan or operating budgets as required during the fiscal year.

Leads and develops strong teams to carry out business unit strategies by:

  • Hiring, training, promoting, holiday & vacation scheduling, dismissals, discipline and compensation reviews for all direct reports; provide written & verbal performance evaluation; advice, guidance, direction and authorization for direct reports to carry out plans & procedures consistent with established policies.
  • Monitoring staff engagement levels and ensuring ongoing improvement to facilitate productivity, retention and high morale; identify potential gaps in talent in the business unit and initiate short/long term strategies to ensure ongoing qualified personnel are being recruited and developed for sustainable corporate growth.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration or related field required. A combination of related education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of direct marketing experience, with preference given to candidates with an additional 2+ years of experience in a management level position with demonstrated experience in successfully building, coaching, and motivating high performing teams while holding employees accountable.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of integrated marketing/promotional campaigns with experience leading content and creative execution which aligns with brand standards.
  • Experience with market research, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience analyzing market research for the development of marketing strategies.
  • Experience using traditional and digital marketing channels and their uses for reaching various audience segments.
  • Experience managing within budgets, forecasting expenditures and calculating ROI on marketing initiatives required.
  • Sales experience and experience in the tourism/hospitality, sporting, or events and entertainment industries is an asset.
