As a Traveling Construction Laborer (Geohazard Mitigation Technician, or GMT) working for GSI, there is no typical day and the scenery changes often. You will be working outside with your hands in a wide variety of climates. You will be laborer working aside experienced technicians measuring, drilling, mixing concrete, and creating sustainable infrastructure. You will be able to point to your work at the end of the day and take pride in building a safer community. Responsibilities

How You Will Make a Difference

• Move materials on a construction site
• Mix, spray, run hoses, and operate shotcrete or grouting pumps
• Operate rock drills
• Operate construction equipment such as excavator, all terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front end loaders
• Reading and determining measurements
• Maintain a clean and organized construction site
• Working together in a team environment

Qualifications

What You Need to Bring

• Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience OR
• Prior construction industry experience as a carpenter or framer for example OR
• Prior concrete experience such as a concrete finisher/form builder or shotcrete experience
• A CDL Class A or a clean Driver Abstract
• The ability to travel at least 3 weeks out of every month
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Ability to get along with a diverse group of people
