Purpose of Position:

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure to support our organization's digital transformation and business objectives. You will explore an extensive list of new technologies that will drive innovation across our products. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architect, Systems Architects and developers to ensure the seamless integration of cloud technologies and services into our existing systems.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or other cloud providers.
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Implement automated deployment, monitoring, and management processes to streamline cloud operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to facilitate seamless application migration to the cloud and integration with on-premises systems.
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive data and intellectual property.
  • Implement solutions to monitor cloud services' performance, alert when systems are down, provide high availability, and identify bottlenecks.
  • Develop robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss in case of unexpected failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues (root cause analysis), providing timely support and troubleshooting for system anomalies.
  • Monitor cloud resource utilization, optimize spending, and suggest cost-saving measures to align with budgetary guidelines.
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices,
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the organization's cloud capabilities.
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Computer or Electrical preferred) or computer science or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services, using Infrastructure as Code and Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, e.g. Python, PowerShell, Ansible.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code practices, e.g. Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation
  • Good understanding of cloud scalability concepts, high availability and disaster recovery
  • Solid knowledge of data streaming and processing technologies, e.g. Kafka, MQTT
  • Solid knowledge of networking concepts and cloud-based networking configurations, e.g. VPN, security, security groups, load balancing, routing, etc..
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity industry standards such as NIST or CIS is a plus
Travel:
  • No travel is required.
