We are looking for a 12-month contract Procurement Specialist to join our finance team. You will play an important role in driving procurement processes forward by facilitating all purchases that enable our organization. You provide excellent customer service, excel at building strong relationships, and love being part of a team that feels the same.

What you'll do:

  • Work with business units to determine procurement needs.
  • Prepare purchase orders based on requirements, verifying specifications and price.
  • Procure items by forwarding orders to suppliers and monitoring fulfillment.
  • Monitor available budget funds to ensure purchases fall within budget.
  • Renew existing agreements & licenses that are due to expire.
  • Ensure that the supplier meets contractual requirements and that required documents such as reports, insurance certificates, etc., as applicable, are received in a timely manner.
  • Oversee asset management and support compliance.
  • Comply with all financial department processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Make improvement recommendations to relevant processes, procedures, and policies.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years experience with technical product and services procurement.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Possess or in pursuit of a procurement certification.
  • Knowledgeable in best practices for services negotiation and procurement.
  • Experience in preparing Request for Proposal's in a technical environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
