Baker Tilly WM LLP is seeking a People and Culture Specialist to join our dynamic P&C Team! In this pivotal role, you will support our P&C Team, supporting the entire P&C function including Talent Acquisition, Performance and Development, Employee Relations and more, across our offices in British Columbia and Ontario.

This opportunity is perfect for an up-and-coming Human Resources professional who is enthusiastic, personable, and eager to expand their expertise in the vibrant field of P&C. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Support full-cycle campus recruitment process including, drafting and posting job descriptions, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, conducting reference/background checks, supporting the offer process, and onboarding new hires
  • Leverage the Firm's social media sites such as Instagram and LinkedIn to drive engagement with candidates focusing on campus initiatives and office culture
  • Liaise with various Post-Secondary Institutions to promote student opportunities within the Firm
  • Participate in recruitment and industry events such as career fairs, conferences and CPA employer sessions to network with industry professionals and increase the Firm's brand awareness
  • Assist the pre-arrival process and orientation of new staff, ensuring new hires are set up for success
  • Support day-to-day HR operations and various administrative tasks such as drafting letters and providing reporting
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns and assist with employee relations
  • Assist in organizing employee training and development programs
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and events
  • Support performance management processes
  • Enhance employee experience and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Maintain, organize, and coordinate accurate and comprehensive records in HRIS
  • Coordinate exit interviews and manage offboarding procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Relevant experience in Human Resources and/or Administrative roles
  • Previous experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or HR Information System (HRIS) is an asset
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and prioritizing skills, as well as the ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Self-motivated and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability in MS Office programs and experience working with calendar management tools is a must (e.g., Outlook)
