Salary:

Our Client, in Fergus, is looking for a full-time Accounting Manager to join their team! The Accounting Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the finance department, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, tax filing, financial reporting, and supporting the Service Manager and other departments. The successful candidate will require strong attention to detail, be proficient in accounting software, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of supplier invoices
  • Ensure proper general ledger (G/L) coding
  • Manage ERP system and data entry
  • Prepare check payments and maintain organized filing
  • Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations
  • Review credit card expenses are accurate
  • Review and post service invoices
  • Follow up on past-due accounts to ensure timely payments
  • Prepare and input bi-weekly payroll
  • Manage all associated payroll tasks
  • WSIB & Sales tax filing, jurisdiction set-up and rate change management
  • Period-end financial closing, prepare journal entries and reconciliations
  • Year-end financial audits
  • Apply technical reports to service orders
  • Apply expenses to the appropriate work orders
  • Support inventory control measures.
  • Participate in year-end inventory counts.
  • Manage fixed assets, including amortization schedules
  • Prepare monthly management reports such as cash flow and liquidity projections
  • Update balance sheet account reconciliations in real-time
  • Manage financial reporting and policy changes
  • Identify, improve, and implement accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide organization and oversight of insurance
  • Support ongoing cost allocation and overhead calculations

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience with accounting software (QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of German HGB reporting standards would be considered an asset
