We have immediate opening Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador operation for experienced Fire Services Field Technicians. As our Fire Services Field Technician you will be responsible for a wide variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire protection equipment according to current codes and standards at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites, including offshore facilities, mine sites, and vessels.

Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

  • Inspection, maintenance, and servicing of fire protection equipment including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting systems, portable and wheeled fire extinguishers, etc.
  • Preparation of stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimization of material utilization.
  • Reading and interpreting diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Completion of daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Mentoring other team members including trainees and field service labour.
  • Supporting take off's and preparing proposals/quotations as required.
  • Compliance with all safe work practices and demonstration of safety leadership in all aspects of the job.

  • Any experience or current certifications with fire extinguishers, hoes, foam fire suppression, kitchen fire suppression, Davit inspection, BST, etc. will be considered an asset.

They must also possess the following experience and/or training credentials:

NOTE: All combinations of education in a related and experience will be considered.

NOTE: Candidates who advance through the hiring process will be required to submit a current Certificate of Conduct and Driver's abstract.

  • A minimum of 2+ years' field service experience in fire services or other technical industry.
  • Training in a Mechanical, Electronics or Fire Protection Technology or related trade(s)
  • Fire service certifications, jurisdictional regulatory permits, and/or fire protection manufacturer related training would be considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Applicants must be able to travel to and work out of remote client sites including offshore facilities, mine sites, and vessels. Overtime and overnight travel will be required; therefore, hours of work/schedule will vary.

In addition, completion of industry and site specific training and assessments will be required including but not limited to CAPP Medical Assessment for Fitness, Alcohol and Drug screening, Basic Survival Training with HUET-HUEBA, amongst others as required by appropriate regulatory bodies and site operators. Successful completion of such training and assessments is a condition of employment.
