AGS is looking for a Manufacturing Execution System Engineer/Integrator to join our dynamic organization.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Execution System Engineer / Integrator is responsible for developing and supporting all facets of the J2 Manufacturing Execution System environment using the Ujigami solution. This position works with all J2 sites to understand their manufacturing and warehouse processes, develops leading-edge solutions, and provides help and advice to customers during deployment. MES Engineer/Integrators develop solutions based on customers requirements, and analyzes, troubleshoots and improves plant floor problems. J2 sites depends on its Manufacturing Execution System Ujigami software to manufacture their products with zero defects and no downtime.

As a Manufacturing Execution System Engineer / Integrator, you will interface directly with sites to understand their needs and help resolve their manufacturing challenges relating to software and hardware. You will be responsible for high level analysis, code level development and implementation of solutions while working directly with site personnel to implement, train, and resolve issues relating to software features and functions. The Manufacturing Execution System Engineer / Integrator will provide assistance to J2 sites by phone, email, and on-site visits.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the completion of assigned projects on time with fully executed deliverables
  • Investigate and understand the manufacturing and warehouse processes used, with the ability to describe and communicate software requirements in detail
  • Design, develop, configure, and implement new program features using the Ujigami (MES) framework and tool sets to achieve project deliverables
  • Lead and complete code change testing and new software functionality
  • Implement changes to meet the project objectives
  • Quickly and accurately investigate and resolve software, hardware, and manufacturing problems reported during project implementation
  • Responsible for ensuring all communications are completed in a timely and professional manner during project implementation
  • Create and maintain project specific documentation and develop technical documentation and presentations for peer education
  • Complete off-site and on-site configuration and trials. Available to assist the project team in resolving project issues
  • Travel to project installation site to ensure project deliverables are completed, as required
  • Communicate project issues to management as they occur
  • Act as an advocate at various project meetings
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as directed by manager.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Solid leadership, organizational, and technical skills
  • Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Results oriented with a goal of perfection
  • Demonstrate ability to work with customers and successfully complete projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a desire to educate and mentor others
  • Solid analytical and software development skills in PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS are essential to being successful in this role
  • Thorough understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems and warehouse operations
  • Demonstrate ability to develop advanced software solutions in a structured software environment that solve real manufacturing challenges
  • Strong professional character and communication skills (oral, verbal, and written)
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructures
  • Ability to lead a work group or project
  • Ability and desire to work independently in a high intensity industry

Additional Assets

  • Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet and internet networking protocols.
  • Direct experience in manufacturing industry and/or warehouse operations.
  • Previous knowledge of Ujigami or other plant floor manufacturing software.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to travel on short notice, including out-of-country and overnight stays for significant lengths of time.
  • Valid driver's license / passport; able to cross international borders including but not limited to Canada, USA.
