Corporate Materials Systems Manager Job Description

Overall Responsibility:
The Materials Systems Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of Materials Systems for all AMTB facilities. This position will collaborate with all Materials Managers on standardization of inventory, planning, Scheduling and Packaging processes and will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes and support the Company's strategic goals. This will include the accuracy and standardization of all facilities master data.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide manufacturing and technical knowledge and skills to support all aspects of Materials Management and systems data
  • Be an effective coach and mentor to Materials/Logistics personnel at different locations on matters related to planning, scheduling, inventory management and Logistics
  • Provides operational level direction for NA Materials teams. Leads and facilitates efforts in support of world-class practices. Researches and recommends new products, processes, systems, policies, and procedures to pursue in the future
  • Ensure robust programs are in place for the assessment of Customer Delivery, Freight, Warehousing, Premium charges and inventory management
  • Ensure application of established corporate financial controls by providing operating management direction and support to the implementation and maintenance of financial policies, instructions, and control procedures.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all Plant and Corporate Master Data
  • Provides direction for all Plant Returnable packaging
  • Ensures adherence of Physical Inventory procedures for all Plant
  • Demonstrates leadership by establishing credibility; acting with integrity; showing commitment; inspiring, motivating and guiding purchasing teams to achieve strategic objectives & goals.
  • Reviews and assists plants in best practice.
  • Upholds the principles of the AMTB Business Protocols. Must understand and respect the laws and cultures in countries which AMTB conducts business & compliance's.
  • Responsible for Budget preparation and planning
  • Meet Department Budget and Measurable s.

Skills, Knowledge, and Personal Traits:

  • 2 years of leadership experience with a track record of progression working at a Tier 1 or 2 Automotive Supplier
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or closely related field; MBA strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in large matrix organization, work collaboratively with colleagues, and get results through others
  • Knowledgeable of business quoting and launch processes, industry best practices, standards performance metrics
  • Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, Materials, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management, and Logistics
  • Experience with total quality manufacturing management and continual improvement.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Fulfill all health and safety and environmental responsibilities as identified in the HSE Management Standards, ISO 14001 & 45001 Management Systems.
  • Ensure QMS conforms to the requirements identified in IATF 16949 and AMTB Process Map.
  • Promote adherence to AMTB's Core Values.
