Job Description

You will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and collaborate across departments within Finance to support the preparation of accounting entries, including lease accounting. This role also involves contributing to the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and securities filings in Canada and the United States.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, MD&A and securities filings in Canada and the United States. Tasks include:
    • Uploading internal Financial Statements and supporting schedules into the Workiva Wdesk financial reporting platform
    • Prepare note disclosures and certain supporting schedules
    • Support the preparation of the MD&A
    • Review XBRL tagging of Annual Financial Statements in Workiva Wdesk platform
  • Assist in quarterly reviews and annual year-end audit of financial statements.
  • Responsible for lease accounting and analysis, providing support for Canada Goose's global lease portfolio.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Financial Statements and certain accounting entries and account reconciliations, including the following areas:
    • Lease accounting
    • Long-term debt
    • Derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Execute internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare financial and technical analysis for IFRS accounting policy position papers, as requested.
  • Contribute to team effort by completing financial reporting tasks as needed.
Qualifications

Let's Talk About You:

  • University degree in Business/Accounting
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is in progress, completed is an asset
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience in financial analysis or data analytics
  • Experience in the Consumer Products industry, retail or manufacturing a definite asset.
  • Experience working in publicly traded companies listed in Canada and the United States, or experience working in private companies with regimented reporting requirements
  • Working within an internal control reporting framework preferred, preferably COSO
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16 is preferred
  • Knowledge of the corporate accounting and financial reporting process
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is required and experience in data analytics software is an asset
  • ERP experience required, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly preferred
  • Experience with Workiva Wdesk platform for financial reporting highly preferred
  • Strong technical internal controls compliance skills
