The Organization:

Pitura Seedsis Western Canadas largest family-owned pedigreed seed processing facility, with a proud heritage spanning 100 years and three generations. Each year, the company grows and contracts tens of thousands of acres of high-quality pulses, cereals, and oilseeds. Situated just 25 minutes south of Winnipeg, Pitura Seeds is recognized as one of Manitobas fastest-growing companies.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their dynamic team. Reporting directly to the President, you will manage all plant operations, including cleaning, bagging, warehousing, and logistics of seed.

What Youll Do:

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing all production and staff schedules, ensuring that all processing documentation is completed and consistently adhered to. You will also create and manage the operations budget effectively. In terms of facilities maintenance, you will oversee the upkeep of the seed cleaning facilities, equipment (including seed treaters), the yard, and buildings. Additionally, you will advise on CAP-EX purchases in collaboration with the Senior Management Team and coordinate the installation and commissioning of all CAP-EX projects.

Quality control will be a significant aspect of your role, where you will ensure the overall quality control of the operations team and collaborate with the Quality Control Technician to support the execution of quality programs such as HACCP, AWSA, and CSI. You will also oversee and verify the completion of corrective action reports. Managing the logistics department, you will oversee all freight entering and exiting the operation, including both custom and company owned trucks.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the agriculture or seed processing industry
• Proven experience in production management, logistics, and quality control.
• Strong understanding of CAP-EX processes and facilities maintenance.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
