THE ROLE

As a welding supervisor on the afternoon shift, you will ensure the equipment is working efficiently and effectively while delivering a quality product in a safe and clean environment. The permanent position is located in Brantford ON for a medium size, and very reputable manufacturing plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise a team of production MIG welders
• This position will be contributing to the operational needs and will be expected to work effectively in production operations
• Ensure quality product is being completed and validate quality parts prior to shipment
• Meet customer production requirements and effectively communicate any shortcomings prior to their occurrence
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives and identifies problem areas where improvements can take place
• Train and recommend training for employees to meet their full potential
• Operate all machines, welders, tools and equipment in the department or designated area and perform arc, mig welding to quality standards
• Ensure that all machines, tools and equipment are safe to operate
• Ensure that customer service levels, cycle times and quality expectations are met
• Adhere to departmental quality certification requirements
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards as specified
• Rework defective parts as specified

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of experience as a welding supervisor
• Valid CWB Welding Supervisor Certificate
• Capable of measuring dimensions of parts to blue print specifications
• Ability to read blueprint drawings
• Physically capable of lifting parts up to 30 lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be professional, respectful of others and avoids unnecessary conflict

• Receptive to change and can adapt to changing circumstances
