AGAT's Website Developer works closely with the members of the Marketing Team to ensure the website reflects the company's brand guidelines and communications efforts. This role focuses on the visual design of the website as well as the functionality and content. This role will assist the team in marketing administration responsibilities. This is a mid-level position responsible for assisting in the marketing and communications strategy for AGAT Laboratories.
Responsibilities:

  • Website Support:
    • Lead the design and layout of website development. Configure WordPress interface by adding and modifying templates, web pages, forms and upload media.
    • Editing, maintaining and updating reliable, high performing and usable responsive web pages.
    • Help with SEO optimization.
  • Presentations Support:
    • Revise/refresh course materials – invitations, PPT files, certificates, video for technical seminars and customer training presentations in consultation with course presenters.
  • Teamwork:
    • Collaborate well with the team, incorporating feedback to meet goals. Other graphic design projects as needed.
  • Graphic Design:
    • Support graphic designer in the design, layout and production of all image assets and graphic strategy for: Digital (website, email, media); Social Media; Marketing Collateral and Corporate Communications (logo, media kits, presentations, brand/style guides).
    • Create and/or edit graphic layout for line of business materials including: sales sheets, technical data sheets, postcards/flyers, print ads, price guides, invitations, etc.
  • Video Editing / Photography:
    • Create and edit video content for use on digital and social media platforms as well as offline in presentation events.
    • Apply brand guidelines consistently, using marketing/design best practices and standards.
    • Generate promotional images through photographing special events with provided equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Web Development, Graphic Design or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the field of web development and or graphic design.
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office; proficient in MS Excel, with e-mail marketing systems and web editing.
  • Solid understanding of Word Press, Elementor + WooCommerce, responsive design, and mobile standards.
  • Solid understanding of web user experience and design patterns, including industry best practices.
  • Ability to create and/or adapt design, including wireframes and visual mock-ups, based on complex requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding and experience with interaction design, information architecture and user research methods and tools.
  • Able to Identify and evaluate potential opportunities to improve existing web, apps, mobile and interactive designs.
  • Ensure development of consistent user experience across all areas of the website.
  • Strong work ethic with maturity to work in a professional manner that is extremely confidential and detail oriented along with ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • A strong portfolio of past work that includes:
    • Practical knowledge of website maintenance and experience with WordPress or other web design platforms.
    • Experience in video production and editing.
    • Advanced understanding of Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
    • Print production experience would be an asset.
  • Fluent English, including strong verbal and written communications, bilingual in French would be considered an asset.

Work Environment: This position requires a person to sit for prolonged periods of time. Manual dexterity is required to perform this position.
