Company Description

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
  • Work within the established procurement policies, procedures, systems developed for the procurement function
  • Prepare the commercial part of tender documents for procurement of subcontractors/work packages including: Terms and conditions of contract and price schedules
  • Coordinate with the technical lead to prepare the technical part of the tender documents for procurement of subcontractors/suppliers including: Scope of Works and schedule
  • Review/assess subcontractor quotes with technical lead
  • Performs Ethics and Compliance due diligences
  • Prepare comparative charts, executive summaries and recommendation to award
  • Negotiate prices, terms and conditions with awarded subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepare and negotiate the contracts, including terms and conditions with the support of legal team
  • Prepare and lead kick off meetings with subcontractors
  • Prepare and review change orders as needed
  • Keep the EDMS and integrated accounting systems updated with the corresponding procurement documents.
  • Uses Project procurement and accounting tools
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in a project procurement role.
  • Experience in infrastructure projects or similar in Canada is preferred.
  • Hands on experience of procurement processes, bid analysis and subcontract negotiation and preparation
  • Result oriented attitude with the ability to coordinate the efforts of other disciplines to accomplish objectives
  • Thorough understanding of areas of procurement including subcontract administration, insurance, financial instruments, purchasing, expediting
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Team player with Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time
