Our client has initiated a project in support of desktop Win 7 upgrade to various platforms including Win 10, workspace virtualization, SAAS, etc. The initiative is in part motivated by Microsoft's new technology / operating system roadmap (SAC) and upcoming Win 7 end of life / support. They will be completing this upgrade in close partnership and collaboration with clinical and business stakeholders ensuring a strong focus on a positive user experience and optimized technical implementation. This is a complex upgrade and transition requiring deliberate planning, engagement, and implementation.
We are looking for an Application Certification Tester, a technical individual who is able to relate to a diverse group of clients and other stakeholders; and work with them to test, remediate, and package their applications. This person will be responsible for testing, analyzing, remediating and packaging applications for deployment in a Win 10 / virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and HealthBC environment.
Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute application installation testing, analysis and remediation on assigned applications ensuring operability in a Win 10 and HealthBC environment
• Validate application requirements including licensing and versioning; identify software/peripheral dependency impacts by working with key internal and external stakeholders; conduct client interviews to understand their clinical / business requirements; identify other unknowns as appropriate
• Engage and support clients in conducting functional testing and user acceptance testing on packaged applications including obtaining client sign-off
• Evaluate and guide optimal application delivery method, and package applications as appropriate using a suite of packaging tools and methodologies including AdminStudio Repackager, Installshield, and Microsoft App-V sequencer
• Create installation documentation following template and strict guidelines from service provider
• Other duties as required

Critical skillset:

• Strong experience with Win 7 and/or Win 10 application installation testing and remediation
• Strong experience with functional testing and user acceptance testing
• Must have experience in preparing application deployment type in a managed environment (e.g. manual install, etc.)
• Strong demonstrated experience in packaging applications using a variety of methodologies including AdminStudio Repackager, Installshield, and Microsoft App-V sequencer
• Past experience creating Manual Installation Instruction Set documentation
• Ability to translate clinical and business needs to technical solution requirements
• Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to resolve technical issues

Desirable skillset:

• Knowledge of virtual technologies including application containerization, VDI, XenApp, VMWare / VMSphere, Hyperconverge, Unidesk, Uniprint, Nutanix and cloud / managed services is an asset
• Application packaging experience
