Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Projects Group, the Project Manager manages and delivers all aspects of the Technologies Group research and engineering projects in the area of extractive metallurgy including definition of scope, budget, quality, schedule, and communication and coordination for internal and external clients to Sherritt. The Project Manager leads project teams, ensuring scope completion and deliverable quality, and aligns technical content with project scope, contributes to business development, and represents the Technologies Group in client services.

The Project Manager leads project teams, ensuring scope completion and deliverable quality, and aligns technical content with project scope, contributes to business development, and represents the Technologies Group in client services.
Accountabilities
- Execute projects in accordance with policies, standards, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to Sherritt's reputation in the domestic and international scientific, technical, and business communities by interacting with past, current, and potential clients, suppliers, partners, as well as peers in industry and academia.
- Assist with Technologies proposal preparation efforts for clients internal and external to Sherritt.
- Define project scope and deliverables in each stage of the project, including identification of complexity or level of detail required to meet requirements.
- Develop and oversee implementation of execution plans combined with Work Breakdown Structures, estimate and schedule to support the project workflow process to deliver efficient and effective execution of projects.
- Track and manage cost and schedule compliance against the overall project schedules, with follow-up on deviations as required to mitigate risk threatening the project's scope, cost and schedule.
- Accountable for quality of produced project deliverables and provide overall technical guidance through the course of the project, as required.
- Accountable for the implementation and continual improvement of Project Management standards, procedures, workflow processes, and tools.
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Professional designation in Engineering, Technology: P.Eng., P.L.(Eng.), P.Tech.(Eng.), C.E.T. or similar is considered an asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
- Experience in research and development of hydrometallurgical processes, engineering, construction, commissioning and operation of hydrometallurgical facilities, is considered an asset.
- Project development, management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound engineering judgement based on demonstrated capability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to problems.
- Communication, presentation, and effective meeting management skills.
