The Financial Planning and Analysis Intern will be responsible for ingesting and validating data, enhancing current reports, conducting variance analysis, and creating Excel-based reports. They will serve as a key support partner for business units and functional areas across the organization during the corporate budget cycle. Additionally, the Intern will research industry reports and summarize key insights for Investor Relations (IR) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). They will also leverage Power Automate to streamline repetitive tasks and provide ad-hoc support for Director of Investor Relations and the Senior Manager of FP&A.
This position will be hybrid mostly, but in the summer there will be a few weeks you will be required to be in the office 5 days (Monday to Friday). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto. This is a fixed-term contract position.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in Ad-hoc business unit and functional area support (modeling, reporting, analysis, data gathering)
Assistant in enhancing, refreshing, and creating excel based reports to support the governance of data by providing visibility and context relating to the company's performance.
Assist in researching industry reports and summarizing analysis for IR and FP&A purposes
Provide Support to Director, Investor relations and Sr. Manager FP&A
Education & Certification
Enrolled in final year of post secondary institution with a focus on business, finance or accounting
Experience
1-2 terms of Co-Op/Intern Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High level proficiency with Microsoft applications, primarily Excel and Power point.
Strong service-oriented attitude and general curiosity about the business, the industry, finance and accounting – asking the right questions and understanding the 'why' before executing on tasks.
Attention to detail required to ensure all numbers articulate – one version of the truth and the narrative behind the numbers aligns with the story the numbers are telling.
