About the Job

As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our organization by managing payroll processes and ensuring that our employees receive their earnings accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
  • Prepare statements of earnings for employees, detailing gross and net salaries along with deductions such as taxes, union dues, and insurance plans.
  • Store, update, and retrieve financial data efficiently.
  • Perform clerical duties, including maintaining filing systems.
  • Assist with human resources tasks, such as personnel selection.
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile payrolls to bank statements.
  • Compile statistics and reports for management review.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate pay and benefits.
  • Prepare T4 statements and other necessary documentation.
  • Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans.
  • Perform data entry and maintain payroll records.
