Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring collaboration and safety on the road.
• Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and security of cargo.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Manage payments for goods, ensuring accurate transactions.
• Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
• Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo during transport.
• Transport and handle dangerous goods in compliance with safety regulations.
