Key Responsibilities

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will:

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and perform inspections on tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
• Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in top condition.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep the vehicle running smoothly.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.
