Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs.
• Develop pre-qualification submissions to present to clients.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Conduct economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• Utilize quantity take-off procedures effectively.
• Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards.
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures as necessary.
• Maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
• Liaise and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree.
• Experience: 5 years or more in a related field, particularly with contractors.
• Certificates: WHMIS Certificate is required.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in estimating, take-off, and scheduling packages.
• Project Size Estimating Experience: Familiarity with projects ranging from $0 to $100,000.
