Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for construction? Outback Oasis Contracting Inc is seeking a dedicated Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work between 35 to 50 hours per week in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates of labour and material costs.
- Compile pre-qualification submissions for clients.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Prepare elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D).
- Estimate general expenses and overheads.
- Project cash flow and financing requirements.
- Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms.
- Utilize quantity take-off procedures.
- Advise on tendering procedures.
- Analyze tenders and recommend awards.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
- Maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding cost estimates.
Requirements
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
- Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in architecture, commercial/industrial construction, or residential construction.
- Work Setting: Estimating.
- Project Size Estimating Experience: $0 - $100,000 and $100,001 - $500,000.
- Area of Work Experience: Purchasing, procurement, contracts, and project coordination.
- Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, criminal record check, and driving record check (abstract).
- Transportation/Travel: Valid driver's license and parking paid by the employer.
