About the Job

This is a permanent position with a work term of 40 to 55 hours per week. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for:

• Driving lighter, special purpose trucks and operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Loading and unloading goods while ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
• Performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
• Addressing customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
• Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.

Requirements

• Work Language: English
• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
• Experience: Previous experience is an asset but not mandatory.
• Certificates:
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
• Documentation Knowledge: Familiarity with inspection reports and trip reports.
• Transportation/Travel Experience: Local and short-haul experience preferred.
• Security and Safety: Must pass a criminal record check and driving record check (abstract).
• Work Conditions: Attention to detail and flexibility for overtime required.
• Weight Handling: Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
