We are accepting applications for our 2025/2026 one-year photography/video internship.
This internship is for early-career photojournalists who have less than five years of experience in the profession. You must have some journalism experience — previous internships or roles in a range of organizations, freelance or non-traditional outlets.
Interns work with full-time staff in a challenging but supportive environment.
All Star internships are paid, contract positions.
Positions would be based out of Toronto.
Qualifications
A creative photographer/videographer to cover a wide variety of assignments, including news, sports and feature portraits. Many assignments will require still images as well as video. You should be an enthusiastic and curious emerging photojournalist ready to bring new perspectives and strong news judgment to your work at the Star.
The successful candidate will:
- Execute a variety of coverage assignments each day
- Brainstorm ideas for feature photographs
- Edit, caption, and transmit photos/videos quickly and efficiently

- Experience using Photoshop and Photo Mechanic
- Photo and video journalism experience outside school assignments and a demonstrated commitment to journalism as a career
- Strong interpersonal skills
