Reporting to the Catering Logistics Manager, the Lead Driver is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of catering drivers, ensuring the successful execution of catering orders and events. This role involves scheduling, coordinating logistics, and providing leadership to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and schedule a team of catering drivers to ensure efficient operations.
  • Logistics Coordination: Plan and coordinate the transportation of food, beverages, and equipment to event locations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, including regular inspections, servicing, and addressing any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all deliveries meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all drivers adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Training: Train new drivers on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Reporting: Maintain records of vehicles, driver performance and internal delivery and or vehicle requests.

Qualifications
  • Valid G Class License with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within catering or logistics preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Completion of Food Handling and Alcohol Service training an asset

Physical Demands:

Activities: Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing.

PPE: May require uniforms and personal protective equipment.
