We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Unit Controller to join our busy hotel in Winnipeg, MB. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our hotel unit, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel unit, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial projections for the hotel unit
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Manage cash flow and working capital requirements
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Provide financial guidance and support to hotel management team

Qualifications
  • Accounting certificate, diploma, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
  • Experience with hotel operations and financial management in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities
